If this is bipartisan, I want no part.

I believe immigration control to be one of the 3 most important issues facing our country. It touches on national security and the economy based on the strain illegals put on American taxpayers. Those are the top two for me.

I'm certainly not an isolationist. There is a process in place that allows immigrants to go after the dream of being an American citizen. I've done some research, America's process is a less stringent than other countries. Go ahead and try to emigrate to Sweden or Switzerland, especially as an American with no ties to those countries.

The following article is a perfect example of many of our political problems and the impact those problems have on national security and our economy when multiplied from a single action. It all has to do with Obama's illegal immigrant relatives and being above the law.

Over the top, or history repeating?

Even as I read the title I thought the concept to be a bit over the top. Dictatorship? In America? No way, never happen. But then I reread the article and that suddenly all too familiar feeling crept back in: What if...

Rep. Paul Broun (R, Georgia), as covered by the AP, takes a direct shot at the extreme end of what could become reality under The One. In part Broun's comments are based on what has absolutely happened, more than once, in the past on scales as grand. They are also based on very real Obama comments, not to be denied. To say history repeats itself is neither cliché nor trite in this case. History does, in very profound ways, repeat itself.

I haven't read much in depth about Nazi Germany or Hitler since high school, but I have read quite a bit about the Soviet Union, Marxism, and more to the point Stalinism. And yes, this is EXACTLY what happened in the USSR, especially when the Bolsheviks reached the height of power under Stalin. Scariest of all is that the tenants of the Bolsheviks align in many ways with ideas coming from Obama. More on this in future posts.

I still hold out hope that America, Congress (even littered with Democrats), and the current Supreme Court will see this coming long before reality sets in. You can bet if plans for a National Security Force under Obama's control moves forward, he'll be hammered on similarities to these massively failed totalitarian regimes and their tactics. You can also bet the snake oil salesman will have just the right answers as to why his form of a force is different enough to ensure no such history can or will repeat itself. The question is whether or not we believe him. I already don't.

Change or Socialism?

As difficult as it was for me to type the URL, I did it anyway. Change.gov. Well how's this for change, The Citizens Corp and federally mandated community service starting at age 11.

And what exactly will the penalties be for children that do not fulfill their community service quota? Will a permanent mark be put on their transcript? Will they have to wear a scarlet letter? Will they be unable to move on to the next grade? Or will parents be called out and admonished in some manner? This is infuriating and the idea is such an egregious imposition on our civil liberties that I can't believe for a second something like this would make it to law. But then as I've previously written, this is the foundation of my fears.

Some poignant analysis of this topic which considers many more important questions and a constant reminder of who Obama has associated with can be found here and more detail on all of his Corp ideas can be found here.

In the Beginning

In the beginning there was abject fear. Fear for my children and their future, fear for my country and its future. I tried tempering that fear into simple concern as I contemplated the oft stated idea that things are never as good as some have you believe, and never as bad as others portray.

Of course trying to alleviate my fear and pain is natural. At this point I find myself doing anything I can to rid my body of constant pangs of anxiety as I sit and ponder what life will be like in America in 2, 4, 8, 12, and 20 years.
Some of us, sitting in defeat and trying to find a lining held out a glimmer. Any hope is now completely extinguished though, and The Great Change has begun. That's because he made his first official move, and I'm back to fear, just plain scared. Many of us knew that once elected the wolf would come out of his sheep outfit but I had no idea how quickly it would happen.

Of course I'm talking about Barack Obama and his election to the presidency of our great country. And more to the point, I'm talking about his selection of Rahm Emanuel as his chief of staff. By all accounts Emanuel, nicknamed Rahmbo, is anything but bipartisan. He's a scary, single-sided, little-man-syndromed, arm-twister of the worst kind. So Lie Number One has been exposed, and there will be no bipartisan efforts, no move from small minded politics, as Obama so often promised throughout his campaign.

As the New Deal offered by the New Administration comes to life in the form of hundreds of posts filled by hundreds of cronies, all we can do is watch. But I can't just watch, I have to do something. So as a beginning point I offer this blog. The goal here is to simply provide ideas, news, and information related to Obama's moves, to support my belief that our country is faced with even greater peril under his leadership.

As a beginning, I offer the following two articles I read today. The first covers more detail on Emanuel and his selection: Obama's Broken Promise. You may read in most of the media how Rhambo's a centrist. Hardly. Just consider his voting record over the past few years and how anyone can state he's a centrist is beyond absurd.

The second I found even more interesting, as it parallels Tony Blair's rise and fall in Britain, the wake left by his reign, and the dismal state of that failing country:
Preventing National Suicide. I never knew Blair as a radical, mostly because I never researched him and foolishly relied on American media outlets for information. Here he was rarely portrayed as anything but the guy from across the pond that supported Bush's War. If you take anything from this article I hope it is the simplest of points, that the root of the word conservative is conserve. It is this conservation of the American way of life, our history, and our culture that is at risk here, and I pray we all understand the magnitude of that preservation.
